Selora Privacy

Selora is made by Sprout Venture Group LLC ("we", "us"). This page says what we keep about you, what we measure, and what we never see. It covers the website at getselora.ai and the Selora app for Mac. The short version: your money figures stay on your Mac, this website uses no cookies, and you can ask us at any time what we hold about you and have it deleted.
1. The app: your figures stay on your Mac
Everything you import into Selora, and every figure it works out, is stored on your Mac in an encrypted file. We never receive your balances, holdings, accounts, or the files you import. We have no account for you and no way to look at your data. The one thing the app fetches from the internet on its own is market prices; it asks for the price of a ticker, not for anything about you.
Today every word Selora writes is produced on your Mac as well. If a future version needs a language model your Mac cannot run, it will send the shape of the decision and never your numbers: no balances, no holdings, no amounts. We will say so here, and name the service, before that version ships.
2. The app: anonymous signals, off unless you turn them on
The app can send us anonymous usage signals so we can see which parts of Selora get used and where people get stuck. This is off unless you turn it on. The app asks once, the first time you open it, and you can change your answer at any time on the app's Security page.
- A signal is a page name and how it went, picked from a fixed list the app ships with. It is never a figure, a holding, a file name, or anything you type.
- Signals go to our measurement service under one shared anonymous name used by every copy of Selora, so they cannot be traced back to you or to your Mac.
- The app keeps a record of every signal it has sent, and the Security page shows it, so you can see for yourself what left.
3. The app: feedback you send
If you send feedback from inside the app, we receive your note, the name of the page you were on, and your email address only if you type it in. We keep these so we can read your note and, if you gave an email, reply. Nothing else about you is attached to it.
4. The website: what we measure, without cookies
On getselora.ai we count page views and clicks from a fixed list of named events, such as "download page viewed" or "checkout opened". We use a measurement service, PostHog, to count them. We have set it up so that:
- It sets no cookie. It keeps a random id in your browser's session storage, which your browser forgets when you close the tab.
- It does not record what you type, does not record your screen, and does not track you across other websites.
- It does not work out your location, and we have asked it to discard your network address.
- If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we measure nothing at all, and a purchase you make is not joined to your visit. Your browser keeps one small note that you are opted out, so we never ask again.
Our hosting company, Vercel, keeps ordinary server logs for a short time, as every website host does.
5. What you give us on the website
- The waiting list. Your email address, and a note if you write one. We use it to send you a trial key and to tell you when Selora is ready. We count trial-key requests per network address for an hour, to limit how many one address can ask for; that count is kept without your email, and the address is not kept with your key.
- Feedback. Your note, the page you were on, and your email address only if you type it in.
- Buying a licence. Purchases are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle takes your payment details; we never see them. Paddle tells us your email address and a transaction number, and we use them to make your licence key and email it to you. Paddle's own privacy policy covers what it keeps.
6. Who else handles your information
We use a small number of services to run Selora, and each sees only what its job needs: Vercel (hosting), Neon (our database), Paddle (payments), Resend (sending licence emails), PostHog (counting page views and signals), and Cloudflare (our domain and email forwarding). We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
7. Your choices
Email us at hello@getselora.ai to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will answer within 30 days. Deleting your record removes you from the waiting list, deletes your feedback, and deletes any trial key. A record of a purchase is kept so we can re-send your key if you lose it and as proof of what you bought; ask, and we delete that too. Your key keeps working either way, because the app checks it on your Mac and never asks us.
If you live in California, you have the right to know what we collect and to have it deleted, and the right not to be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms, so there is nothing to opt out of; a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is honoured as described above.
Selora is for adults managing their own household's money. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Changes
If this page changes, we will change the date at the top. A change that affects what we keep about you will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
