Selora Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-22. This text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
These terms are an agreement between you and Sprout Venture Group LLC ("we", "us"), the company that makes Selora. They cover the Selora app for Mac and the website at getselora.ai. By installing or using Selora you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Selora.
1. What Selora is, and what it is not
Selora is decision-support software. It works out figures from information you give it and shows you the trade-offs between options. It does not know your full situation, your goals, or the law that applies to you.
Selora is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and we are not your adviser, broker, or fiduciary. Nothing Selora shows you is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Every decision, and every action you take, is yours. If you need advice, talk to a licensed professional who knows your situation.
Selora never executes trades, transfers money, or writes to any account. It has no access to your accounts. It only reads the files you choose to import.
2. Accuracy
We work hard to make Selora's figures right, and Selora is built to show no figure rather than a wrong one. Even so, figures can be wrong or out of date. Prices come from public sources and can be delayed or missing. Tax rules change and are simplified. Check anything you rely on, and treat what Selora shows as a starting point, not a final answer.
3. Your data stays on your Mac
Selora stores what you import, and what it works out, on your Mac, in an encrypted file. Your figures never leave your Mac. When Selora needs a language model your Mac cannot run, it sends the shape of the decision and never your numbers: no balances, no holdings, no amounts.
You are responsible for backing up your Mac. If you delete Selora's data, or the key that unlocks it, we cannot get it back, because we never had it.
Selora sends usage information to us only if you turn that on, and it never includes your figures. You can turn it off at any time.
4. Your licence
When you buy Selora you get a licence to install and use it on the Macs you own or control, for your personal household use. You may not sell, rent, or share your licence key, or use Selora to provide a service to others.
There are two kinds of licence:
Founding: $149 a year. You get updates while you keep paying. If you stop paying, the version you have keeps working; you just stop getting updates.
Lifetime: $299 once. You get updates for two years from the day you buy. After that, the version you have keeps working.
Your licence key is yours to keep safe. We show it on the page you bought it from and send it by email. If you lose it, contact us from the email address you bought with and we will help.
5. Buying, payment, and refunds
Purchases are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. When you buy, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms, and Paddle handles payment, taxes, and refunds. If you want a refund, contact us or Paddle within 14 days of buying and we will sort it out.
6. What you may not do
You may not take Selora apart to copy it, remove or get around the licence check, use Selora to break the law, or use it in a way that harms other people.
7. Our limits
Selora is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that Selora will meet your needs, be free of errors, or be available at all times, and we are not liable for any loss that comes from relying on it, including lost money, lost data, or lost profits. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.
8. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Selora at any time by removing it. We can end your licence if you break these terms. The sections on accuracy, data, limits, and governing law survive the end of this agreement.
9. Changes
We may change these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top and put the new terms in the app and on the website. Big changes we will tell you about by email. Using Selora after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. If you are a consumer, the protections of the law where you live still apply to you.
